What do you think of my haikus?

Fish swim through the stream.

Treacherous waterfall waits

for them miles ahead.

King of the Jungle,

he who is called the Lion,

gave his crown to Ape.

Looking at the stars,

one cannot help but wonder,

How long and how far?

Strange are the seasons.

Winter is slow, summer fast;

the rest choose their speed.

The narcissus life.

He fancies himself a god,

but acts like a fool.

Home has three meanings:

A place for sleep, or for warmth,

and to some, a cage.

Owl sits on his perch,

searching with his hungry eyes

for his nighttime meal.

An old, wooden chair

rocks to and fro in the wind,

lacking a master.

Do you like them? Which one's your favorite? Which ones don't you like? Why? etc...

What do you think of my haikus?
Isn't it supposed to be 5 syllables, 7 syllables, then 5 syllables? But otherwise, they're really good. I liked 3, 5, and 8 - very good. 6 wasn't so great because you began mentioning the things that a home is good for (sleep, warmth) and then you sort of .. just .. stop and say it's a cage. The rest are also good but these caught my attention
Reply:The last and the 4th to last are my favorites.

I don't like the 2nd and the 4th.

Hope that help. It probably won't As long as YOU'RE happy with your poems, then they're good. Oneself is always the harshest critic.
Reply:I happened to like all of them.
