Narcissus Effect?

Has anyone heard of an adage that gay men tend to fall for reflections of themselves (e.g. partner with someone who looks similar to themselves)? What do you think of it?

Narcissus Effect?
yeah...

i can't answer for the whole community, but for ME i'd say that's total and complete nonsense. i've dated very few men who physically resemble me even slightly.
Reply:Well when you think about it...one of the first things about someone before even meeting them that catches your eye is their appearance. It only makes sense that guys would tend to, not always, but tend to fall for others that look similiar to them in style because clearly you dress a certain way because you like it..it only makes sense to like it on someone else. When you add the same interests, it looks like a "reflection." This happens in the straight world too, cept when its gay, it more noticable because its both men
Reply:Maybe someone with similar interests as themselves but not themselves to the point their guy could be mistaken for a brother. And guys who fancy guys with similar characteristics eg twinks liking twinks doesnt qualify as the same.
Reply:... I have never heard that. Although thinking about it, I've seen a few guys that do that. But most of them don't.
Reply:Never heard of it %26amp; never seen anything on it.
Reply:Never heard of it and don't believe it for a moment.
Reply:My husband (gay couple) doesn't look a bit like me! In Contrary he's the handsome one and i'm just average!
Reply:Never heard of that. Have you?
