In mythology, what is the setting called when there's a peaceful pool of water, and then everything goes bad at the end. Such as Acis and Galatea, Salmacis and Hermaphroditus and Narcissus and Echo?

A grotto is a little stone lined pool with a shallow cave, surrounded with trees.





Or perhaps a grove -- sacred groves of trees usually contained a pool.
